Omron have introduced another range of Blood Pressure Monitors and the Omron BP785 is one of these. This Series 10 model of the Omron HEM-780 has all the features of the original, plus a few extra, making this a very formidable Blood Pressure Monitor.

The front panel on the Omron BP785 is noticably different, having been changed from the old White to new Black styling.

Comfit Cuff and IntelliSense
All Omron Upper Arm Blood Pressure Monitors are fitted with the Comfit Cuff and IntelliSense technology, including the Omron BP785. Due to the Comfit Cuff being pre-formed, it can be easily fitted without any help. The cuff incorporates sewn in colored guide markings, making it easy to position on the arm correctly. Arm Cuffs are usually supplied in one of 2 sizes, 9 - 13 inches (Standard) and 13 - 17 inches (Large). The Comfit Cuff can be used by anyone who has an arm size between nine and seventeen inches
Maximum comfort and accurate measurements with the Omron BP785 are achieved with the IntelliSense technology, by inflating the cuff to the optimum level.
Display Unit
The Omron BP785 has a Large angled top panel that has an LCD display at the top - above 2 rows of buttons that also includes the User selection switch. Starting from the top - the most important information displayed is - Systolic (Highest BP level) next is Diastolic (Lowest BP level) and at the bottom is Heartbeat Rate
Alert Symbols include:
- Irregular Heartbeat - this is triggered when 2 or more irregular Heartbeats are detected in a measurement period.
- Movement Error - If you move whilst the measurement is taking place - this alert will be displayed.
- Morning Hypertension - When your Weekly Morning Average exceeds 135 for Systolic and/or 85 for Diastolic then the alert is triggered.
- Cuff Wrap Guide - in the unlikely event that the Comfit Cuff is incorrectly fitted - this will show an alert.
Measurement Accuracy
You can have confidence in any measurement you obtain from the Omron BP875, due to the built in safeguards.
These include:
- Comfit Cuff - the sewn-in indicators ensure precise positioning on the arm.
- Cuff Wrap Guide - this is displayed when the cuff is incorrectly fitted.
- Movement Error Symbol - this is displayed when there is too much movement (which may effect the readings)
- Dual Sensors - this will double-check all measurements and sets the Calibration Check indicator to flash if any difference is spotted.
TruRead mode programs the unit to automatically inflate and deflate the Comfit Cuff 3 times, taking a reading for every sequence. The period between each reading may be selected as 15 secs, 30 secs, 1 min or 2 min. The unit default is set to 1 min as advised by Internationally recognised guidelines.
Measurement StorageEach of the 2 Users can store up to 100 readings with the Omron BP785. Also featured is a Guest mode that allows other peoples measurements to be viewed but not stored. Each User can also store up 8 weeks of Morning and Evening Averages.
